</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This information was in The New York Times several weeks ago as part of their "Spotlight on the Home" series that highlighted creative and fanciful ways to solve common problems.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
8.. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm your fingers or fingernails while you clean.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!</span></div>Gracehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04976307890087056605noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5708506335749500573.post-78790767605313316772010-03-29T19:36:00.000-07:002010-03-29T19:36:08.932-07:00The "Law of the Garbage Truck"<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GYQzConhoPo/S7Fi_EXS1SI/AAAAAAAAAnw/0KF2Jv2Dhl4/s1600/gt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GYQzConhoPo/S7Fi_EXS1SI/AAAAAAAAAnw/0KF2Jv2Dhl4/s320/gt.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: purple; font-family: Verdana;">How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Here's what happened. I hopped in a taxi,and we were driving in the right lane when, all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car's back end by just inches! The driver, who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us.</span></div><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: purple;"> </span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: purple;"><div style="text-align: justify;">My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Taxi drivers are the most experienced people who manage the people around. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">He taught me a new lesson."The Law of the Garbage Truck." "Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up,they need a place to dump it. And if you let them,they'll dump it on you. When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally. You just smile,wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happy you did." </div></span></span></div><div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: purple; font-family: Verdana;"><br />
</span></div><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: purple;">So this was it: The "Law of the Garbage Truck." I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, on the streets? It was that day I said, "I'm not going to do it anymore." I began to see garbage trucks. Like in the movie "The Sixth Sense," the little boy said, "I see Dead People." </span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: purple;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, now "I see Garbage Trucks." I see the load they're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off. And like my Taxi Driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish them well, and I move on. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Good leaders know they have to be ready for their next meeting. Good parents know that they have to welcome their children home from school with hugs and kisses. Leaders and parents know that they have to be fully present, and at their best for the people they care about. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">The bottom line is that successful people do not let Garbage Trucks take over their day. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">What about you? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by? Here's my bet. You'll be happier. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so. Love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, TAKE IT! If it changes your life, LET IT! Nobody said it would be easy...</div></span></span></div>Gracehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04976307890087056605noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5708506335749500573.post-78935438044951934822010-03-16T20:46:00.000-07:002012-01-06T08:03:56.425-08:00The Power Of Words Over Water<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #351c75;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;">Can water be affected by our words? </span></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #351c75; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><i>source</i> : <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: black; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><a href="http://www.life-enthusiast.com/twilight/research_emoto.htm">http://www.life-enthusiast.com/twilight/research_emoto.htm</a></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #351c75; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Wait A Minute— </div><div style="text-align: center;">Aren’t You Made Up Of Water? </div><div style="text-align: center;">Yes! 72% of your body is made up of water. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Imagine how your words affect your own body. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">When you say, “I’m a failure,” </div><div style="text-align: center;">or “I’m hopeless,” </div><div style="text-align: center;">or “I won’t get well,” </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">imagine how these words weaken your health. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Make a choice to say the best words out there. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Say often, “I’m wonderful,” </div><div style="text-align: center;">and “I’m beautiful,”</div><div style="text-align: center;"> and “I’m God’s c hild,” </div><div style="text-align: center;">and “God has a great plan for my life!” </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">It’s not only water. Dr. Emoto also experimented with cooked rice. He placed one cup of cooked rice in two airtight jars. On one jar, he wrote, “I love you,” and on the other, “You fool.” Everyday for 30 days, Dr. Emoto would say these words to each jar of rice. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">After 30 days, the “I love you” rice was still white. But the “You fool” rice was so rotten, it was black. How can you explain this? </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GYQzConhoPo/S6BNX0k-e7I/AAAAAAAAAno/LrS7FZA9k9A/s1600-h/w11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GYQzConhoPo/S6BNX0k-e7I/AAAAAAAAAno/LrS7FZA9k9A/s320/w11.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Just as a side note: When I was a child, my mother taught me to pray before meals. Now I realize it wasn’t just a nice thing to do. When I pray over my meal, I know a material transformation takes place in the molecular level of the food that I pray for. I say, “Be blessed,” to the water and food on the table—and I expect it to be blessed. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I encourage you to speak words of truth. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Dethrone the lies in your mind. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Say , “I’m beautiful.”</div><div style="text-align: center;"> Say, “I’m a wonderful person.” </div><div style="text-align: center;">Say, “I have a great future.” </div><div style="text-align: center;">Say, “I’m anointed. </div><div style="text-align: center;">I’m strong. </div><div style="text-align: center;">I’m blessed.” </div><div style="text-align: center;">Use your words to create your desired reality. </div><div style="text-align: center;">May your dreams come true! GOD BLESS YOU</div></span></span></div>Gracehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04976307890087056605noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5708506335749500573.post-39193870052750791172010-03-04T18:49:00.000-08:002012-01-06T07:44:40.269-08:00Cherokee Legend<div><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong><em><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #38761d;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;">Story:</span></span></em></strong></span></div><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #38761d;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;"> Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage? </span></span><br />

<div align="justify"><span style="color: maroon; font-size: 85%;"></span></div><br />
<div align="justify"><span style="color: maroon;">A veteran fashion photographer who is used to having his works featured in Vogue, GQ and Elle, will release his most "rewarding" collection – "Journeys with the Messiah" – on Friday, the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.<br />
<br />
"I was in New York prepping for a photo shoot a week after 9/11 and saw many people searching for something," recalled Michael Belk, who created the Jesus photo collection out of his Christian faith. "Similar to 9/11, I think many Americans don't know where to turn in the midst of the current worldwide financial crisis."<br />
<br />
Belk says he hopes his "Journeys With the Messiah" collection will help people who are anxious and looking for answers to find peace by knowing there is someone to turn to.<br />
<br />
The photos are a retelling of the stories of 1st-century Jesus to a 21st-century audience. Included in the collection are photos of Jesus with Nazis, prostitutes, Ferraris and motorcycles, as well as Wall Street executives and high rollers that creatively address modern-day social problems such as genocide, materialism, addiction, poverty, and hypocrisy.<br />
<br />
In the photo entitled "The Second Mile," Jesus is shown walking and talking alongside a Nazi soldier. The messiah is carrying the soldier's backpack as well as his gun.<br />
<br />
"Jesus' teachings on this subject (forgiveness) were revolutionary: 'Love your enemies as yourself. Pray for those who persecute you. Forgive people seventy times seven.' Jesus reminds us that, just as God forgives us, we are expected to do the same for others," wrote Belk in the accompanying journal entry for the photo.<br />
<br />
Each of Belk's images is accompanied by a written journal entry of a 21st-century take on a 1st-century story or parable.<br />
<br />
In another photo, "Rest for the Weary," a man in a suit and tie is shown collapsed on the steps of a building. His head rests on Jesus' lap while his suitcase is opened with papers scattered about.<br />
<br />
"I am writing this in March of 2009 while the world is in a serious economic upheaval," Belk's journal reads. "Fortunes have been lost, retirement incomes are gone, and the basic necessities have become a struggle for man."<br />
<br />
But then he writes, "In truth, we assign too much importance to issues that, in the end, will be of non consequence. Have you ever heard of a man on his deathbed who asked to see his stock portfolio one more time? Could the time we spend worrying be better spent in quiet, soothing fellowship with the One who created it all and promises more?"<br />
<br />
The Christian photographer reminds the reader Jesus said not to worry but to "seek His Kingdom first" and God will take care of our needs. Also, Jesus invited those who are weary and burdened to find rest in Him.<br />
<br />
"Maybe we should give it a try," Belk suggested.<br />
<br />
One of the aims of the photo collection, the 61-year-old photographer said, was to strip away the "religion" part of Christianity that has turned so many people away, and share the core message of who Jesus was and what He taught.<br />
<br />
Belk believes the photos carry messages that God wants to say to people in the world struggling with countless problems right now.<br />
<br />
In 2008, despite the economic downturn, Belk took time off of fashion photography and spent his own money to finance the project that took more than a year and a half to complete. The project cost $600,000.<br />
<br />
Pre-production took 10 months and more than 100 extras were needed. An Italian actor played Jesus and a production company from Rome and a film crew from the U.S. were hired.<br />
<br />
Belk directed what he calls "the most grueling, but most rewarding shoot" of his career.<br />
<br />
All of the photos were shot in Matera, Italy (filming location for "The Passion of the Christ").<br />
<br />
The fashion photographer-turned-Jesus' camera man is considering to exhibit the collection worldwide in counterintuitive venues such as mass transit stations, corporate headquarters and projections onto urban buildings. He also hopes the images will be used in a greeting card line and small group curriculum.<br />
<br />
Limited edition photographs, posters, 108-page photography book, DVD, and screensavers and wallpapers are available for sale. Proceeds from the sale of the photos will fund the worldwide exhibit tour.<br />

<br>I first saw this quote at a friend's house several years ago. I don't know who said it but it's one of those things that you don't think much about, at the time, but it keeps coming back to you.<div>
<br></div>
<div>
For me it was reoccurring as I've had to adjust to events that were beyond my control. Some were serious challenges, such as losing a loved one. Others were less so. I know that I'm not alone. Life is like that. We lose jobs. We lose some we love. We end a marriage or a friendship.</div>

Many an evening he spent in Rambhau's cabin reading to him from the Bible, and explaining to him God's way of salvation.<BR><BR>Rambhau enjoyed listening to the Word of God, but whenever the missionary tried to get Rambhau to accept Christ as his Saviour he would shake his head and reply, "Your Christian way to heaven is too easy for me! I cannot accept it. If ever I should find admittance to heaven in that manner I would feel like a pauper there ... like a beggar who has been let in out of pity. I may be proud but I want to deserve, I want to earn my place in heaven and so I am going to work for it."<BR><BR>Nothing the missionary could say seemed to have any effect on Rambhau's decision, and so quite a few years slipped by. One evening, however, the missionary heard a knock on his door, and on going to open it he found Rambhau there.<BR><BR>"Come in, dear friend," said Morse.<BR><BR>"No," said the pearl-diver. "I want you to come with me to my house, Sahib, for a short time I have something to show you. Please do not say 'No'".<BR><BR>"Of course I'll come," replied the missionary. As they neared his house, Rambhau said, "In a week's time I start working for my place in heaven. I am leaving for Delhi and I am going there on my knees."<BR><BR>"Man, you're crazy! It's nine hundred miles to Delhi, and the skin will break on your knees, and you will have blood-poisoning or leprosy before you get to Bombay."<BR><BR>"No, I must get to Delhi," affirmed Rambhau, "and the immortals will reward me for it! The suffering will be sweet for it will purchase heaven for me!"<BR><BR>"Rambhau, my friend you can't. How can I bear you to do it when Jesus Christ has suffered and died to purchase heaven for you!"<BR><BR>But, the old man could not be moved. "You are my dearest friend on earth, Sahib Morse. Through all these years you have stood by me in sickness, in want you have been sometimes my only friend. <BR>but, even you cannot turn me from my desire to purchase eternal bliss. I must go to Delhi!" Inside the hut Morse was seated in the very chair Rambhau had specially built for him -- where on so many occasions he had read to him the Bible.<BR><BR>Rambhau left the room to return soon with a small, but heavy, English strongbox. "I have had this box for years," said he, "and I keep only one thing in it. Now, I will tell you about it," Sahib Morse. "I once had a son ..."<BR><BR>"A son! Why, Rambhau, you have never before said a word about him!"<BR><BR>"No, Sahib, I couldn't." Even as he spoke the diver's eyes were moistened.<BR><BR>"Now I must tell you, for soon I will leave, and who knows whether I shall ever return? My son was a diver too. He was the best pearl diver on the coasts of India . He had the swiftest dive, the keenest eye, the strongest arm, the longest breath of any man who ever sought for pearls. What joy he brought to me! Most pearls, as you know, have some defect or blemish only the expert can discern. But, my boy always dreamed of finding the 'perfect' pearl one beyond all that was ever found. One day he found it! But even when he saw it, he had been under water too long. That pearl cost him his life, for he died soon after."<BR><BR>The old pearl diver bowed his head. For a moment his whole body shook, but there was no sound. "All these years," he continued, "I have kept this pearl. But now, I am going, not to return, and to you, my best friend, I am giving my pearl."<BR><BR>The old man worked the combination on the strongbox and drew from it a carefully wrapped package. Gently opening the cotton, he picked up a mammoth pearl and placed it in the hand of the missionary. It was one of the largest pearls ever found off the coast of India , and glowed with a luster and brilliance never seen in cultured pearls. It would have brought a fabulous sum in any market.<BR><BR>For a moment the missionary was speechless and gazed with awe. "Rambhau! What a pearl!" <BR>"That pearl, Sahib, is perfect," replied the Indian quietly. The missionary looked up quickly with a new thought: Was not this the very opportunity and occasion he had prayed for to make Rambhau understand the value of Christ's sacrifice? So he said, designedly, "Rambhau, this is a wonderful pearl, an amazing pearl. Let me buy it. I would give you ten thousand dollars for it."<BR><BR>"Sahib! What do you mean?"<BR><BR>"Well, I will give you fifteen thousand dollars for it, or if it takes more I will work for it."<BR><BR>"Sahib," said Rambhau, stiffening his whole body, "this pearl is beyond price. No man in all the world has money enough to pay what this pearl is worth to me. On the market a million dollars could not buy it. I will not sell it to you. You may only have it as a gift."<BR><BR>"No, Rambhau, I cannot accept that. As much as I want the pearl, I cannot accept it that way. Perhaps I am proud, but that is too easy. I must pay for it, or work for it ..."<BR><BR>The old pearl-diver was stunned. "You don't understand at all, Sahib. Don't you see? My only son gave his life to get this pearl, and I wouldn't sell it for any money. Its worth is in the life-blood of my son. I cannot sell this! But, I can give it to you. Just accept it in token of the love I bear you."<BR><BR>The missionary was choked, and for a moment could not speak. Then, he gripped the hand of the old man. "Rambhau," he said in a low voice, "don't you see? My words are just what you have been saying to God all the time."<BR><BR>The diver looked long and searchingly at the missionary, and slowly, slowly he began to understand. "God is offering to you salvation as a free gift," said the missionary. "It is so great and priceless that no man on earth can buy it. Millions of dollars are too little. No man on earth could earn it. His life would be millions of years too short. No man is good enough to deserve it. It cost God the life-blood of His only Son to make the entrance for you into heaven. </FONT></FONT></DIV><FONT face=Verdana color=#008000 size=2><FONT color=#0000ff> <DIV align=justify><BR>In a million years, in a hundred pilgrimages, you could not earn that entrance. All you can do is to accept it as a token of God's love for you a sinner.<BR><BR>"Rambhau, of course I will accept the pearl in deep humility, praying God I may be worthy of your love. Rambhau, won't you accept God's great gift of heaven, too, in deep humility, knowing it cost Him the death of His Son to offer it to you?"<BR><BR>Great tears were now rolling down the cheeks of the old man. The veil was beginning to lift. "Sahib, I see it now. I have believed in the doctrine of Jesus for the last two years. But, I could not believe that His salvation was free. Now, I understand. Some things are too priceless to be bought or earned. And though the problem is solved, but the solution is inefficient as well as more complicated.<BR><BR>We will see the two cases below:<BR>1. One of the most memorable case studies on Japanese management was the case of the empty soap box, which happened in one of Japan's biggest cosmetics companies. The company received a complaint that a consumer had bought a soap box that was empty. Immediately the authorities isolated the problem to the assembly line, which transported all the packaged boxes of soap to the delivery department. For some reason, one soap box went through the assembly line empty. Management asked its engineers to solve the problem. <BR>Post-haste, the engineers worked hard to devise an X-ray machine with high-resolution monitors manned by two people to watch all the soap boxes that passed through the line to make sure they were not empty. No doubt, they worked hard and they worked fast but they spent whoopee amount to do so. But when a rank-and-file employee in a small company was posed with the same problem, did not get into complications of X-rays, etc but instead came out with another solution. He bought a strong industrial electric fan and pointed it at the assembly line. He switched the fan on, and as each soap box passed the fan, it simply blew the empty boxes out of the line.<BR><BR>2. When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn't work at zero gravity (Ink won't flow down to the writing surface).In order to solve this problem, it took them one decade and $12m. They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C. <BR>And what did Russians do? The Russians used a Pencil!!! <BR><BR><FONT face=Georgia size=4><STRONG><EM>Moral of the story:</EM></STRONG></FONT> </FONT></DIV> <DIV align=justify><FONT face="Trebuchet MS" color=#800080 size=2>KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) i.e. always look for simple solutions, so simple that even a fool can do it. Devise the simplest possible solution that solves the problem. So, learn to focus on solutions not on problems "If you look at what you do not have in life, you don't have anything" "If you look at what you have in life, you have everything."</FONT></DIV>Gracehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04976307890087056605noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5708506335749500573.post-44233585735606416692007-09-05T02:54:00.000-07:002007-09-17T19:34:48.207-07:00Worry - The Real Enemy<DIV align=justify><FONT face=Verdana color=#800000 size=2><IMG alt="" hspace=5 src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1433/1329026848_9872f7d99f_o_d.jpg" align=left vspace=5 border=0>What does it mean to worry? The Latin concept of worry describes a turbulent force within a person. Worry is a heart and mind in turmoil.<BR><BR>The ancient Greeks thought of worry as something that tears a person in two and drags that person in opposite directions. It is like opposing forces in deadly conflict within the very being of the individual.<BR><BR>The word "worry" itself comes from an old Anglo-Saxon term meaning to choke, or strangle, and that is exactly what it does - it chokes the joy of living wage right out of its victim. And it chokes off the energy to improve one's condition.<BR><BR>There is a place for healthy concern, but too often our concern turns into fearful worry. And worry, more than the problem, becomes our real enemy.<BR><BR>Some people have worried for so long that they have become good at it. Just as we can become good at any attitude or behavior if we practice it enough, we can also become good at worrying. Worry is habit - a habitual response to life's problems.<BR><BR>I rather like the attitude of the late United Methodist Bishop Welch. When he reached the age of 101, he was asked if he didn't think a lot about dying. With a twinkle in his eye, he replied, "Not at all! When was the last time you heard of a Methodist bishop dying at 101?" Maybe one reason for his longevity is that he never developed the habit of worry.<BR><BR>Next time you feel yourself worrying, be like the frogs - they eat what bugs them. Decide to no longer practice needless worry and instead practice peace. Replace your habit of fearful worry with the habit of courageous action. As Harvey Mackey has said, <STRONG>"Good habits are as addictive as bad habits and a lot more rewarding."</STRONG> Practice joy. Practice faith. And practice courage. Soon your life will be too rich and full for worry.</FONT><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><BR></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><FONT face=Verdana color=#000080 size=2><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 85%; FONT-FAMILY: arial"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><FONT face=Verdana><FONT color=#000080><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><FONT face=Verdana color=#000080><FONT color=#000080><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><FONT face=Verdana color=#000080><FONT color=#000080><BR><FONT color=#000080><A href="http://www.lifesupportsystem.com/"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 85%; FONT-FAMILY: arial"><FONT color=#ffcc66><STRONG>LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM</STRONG></FONT></SPAN></A><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 85%; FONT-FAMILY: arial"><FONT color=#000080> by <A href="http://www.stevegoodier.com/"><FONT color=#ffcc66>Steve Goodier</FONT></A> © 2007.
